Keynote speaker: Georg Riekeles, Associate Director and Head of Europe’s Political Economy programme, European Policy Centre

Before joining the EPC, Georg served as diplomatic adviser to EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier during the four years of Brexit negotiations with the UK. He has also been an adviser for security and defence at the European Political Strategy Centre (EPSC), the European Commission’s in-house think tank, and  served as member of cabinet to Commission Vice-President and Commissioner Michel Barnier in the period 2010-2014. Georg holds a master’s degree in political science from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and studied economics and philosophy at the London School of Economics

Henrik Syse is a philosopher, author, lecturer, and researcher. He has a Master of Arts degree in political philosophy from Boston College (1991) and a doctorate in ethics from the University of Oslo (1997). He is a part-time senior researcher at PRIO (the Peace Research Institute Oslo) and holds a professorship at Bjørknes University College. Henrik was previously the leader of the ownership group in Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) were he was central to the implementation of the ethical guidelines in the Oil Fund.
