Greenhouse gas reduction from shipping 

Metizoft provides software and services that ensure that over 300 customers and 3500 ships meet the requirements for sustainable and responsible operations. The company, which is headquartered in Herøy in Norway, has an established position within software and solutions for the maritime industry and works continuously with product development that responds to customer sustainability needs. 

As a result of new regulations and requirements from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the EU, Metizoft is experiencing an increased demand for greenhouse gas reduction solutions.  

Growing global need 

Shipping accounts for 3% of global emissions, and 14% of the EU’s total transport emissions. The International Maritime Organization recently announced an ambition of zero emissions from international shipping by 2050. This places higher demands on greenhouse gas reduction measures in the industry globally and here, Norway has a unique position to develop new zero-emission solutions. 

Metizoft’s Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) provides customers with an overview of CO2 emissions from the construction and operation of ships and highlights measures to reduce emissions throughout the ship’s life cycle.
