Startuplab has experienced significant growth in climate-related investment opportunities. With its fifth fund, approximately half of the investments will be directed toward climate, environment, and energy. To accelerate the growth of Norwegian climate technology companies, Nysnø is investing NOK 30 million in the fund.
– We see this as an opportunity to invest in a leading incubator and accelerator with unique deal flow, a strong brand, and a refined, proven investment strategy that has historically delivered strong returns, says Paal Rogdeberg, Investment Manager at Nysnø.
A broader climate collaboration
Nysnø aims to support Norwegian climate tech startups in the pre-seed phase and create greater growth opportunities for these companies. Therefore, Nysnø is expanding its collaboration with Startuplab by contributing to platforms where companies and investors can meet. As part of this, Nysnø will co-host Startuplab’s flagship conference, Climate Summit 2030, in October during Oslo Innovation Week.
– Startuplab has systematically built a strong network for its companies and investors. We appreciate this effort and want to further strengthen it. We look forward to closer collaboration with Startuplab in the future, Rogdeberg adds.
– At Startuplab, we are thrilled to have a solid climate-focused fund investor like Nysnø on board. For our companies, this means easier access to highly competent international climate funds in addition to Nysnø’s expertise, network, and capital. It is a pleasure to collaborate with Nysnø on key events like the 2030 Climate Summit, and we expect that together we will strengthen Norway’s position as a global leader in climate tech. Nysnø’s investment is also an acknowledgment we deeply appreciate, says Gisle Østereng, Head of Investments at Startuplab.
